WHY CHEMICAL ENGINEERING DEPT FIT-UII?

Chemical Engineering Department is one of the pioneers of Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Islam Indonesia (FIT UII) establishment. It was originally started with the opening of Textile Technology Department in 1975. In 1982 the Textile Technology Department changed into the Faculty of Textile Technology. Now it changed to Department of Chemical Engineering with Decree of Minister of Education and Culture No. 433 / DIKTI / Kep / 1995 with two areas of undergraduates concentration, namely Chemical Engineering and Textile Engineering. Currently Chemical Engineering Department has 33 permanent lecturers holding doctoral degree (S3) and Master degree (S2), with average 600 student body.

As of July 17, 2018 Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Islam Indonesia has been accredited A by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) with Decree No: 1796 / SK / BAN-PT / Accredited / S / VII / 2018. This achievement make Chemical Engineering Department, Universitas Islam Indonesia as the first and the only department in private university which has A accreditation in Central Java and Yogyakarta, and the 3rd national scale.


CAREER PROSPECT

UII’s Chemical Engineering Department is designed to produce graduates who are ready to face the challenges and competition within the free market, professional, innovative, independent, adaptive, and creative person based on Islamic values. UII’s Chemical Engineering Department is also continuously developed to become a center of research and development, as well as a partner for society, government and industry in solving problems related to product design, industrial process technology and knowledge required for complex work to produce high value-added products.

Career opportunities for UII’s Chemical Engineering graduates are extensive and challenging, such as oil and gas companies, petrochemical, EPCC, food products, chemicals, medicine and healthcare. they can pursue career as researchers, lecturers, civil servants (PNS), and work in other institutions or sectors. In getting a decent job matching the educational backgraound, the average waiting period is no more than six months after graduation.
